The Thunder trumpeted a sell-out for their clash against the Melbourne Renegades in Canberra on January 24 when the first allocation was snapped up at warp speed.
But a window of opportunity remains for Canberra fans wanting to see a BBL game in their own backyard with the club releasing a second allocation of tickets.
The BBL kicks off on Tuesday night when the Thunder face cross-town rivals the Sydney Sixers at the Sydney Showground.
Canberra fans are already counting down the days until the booming Twenty20 competition returns to the capital for the first time since 2015.
The Women's BBL is already underway with five ACT Meteors players in line to return to Manuka Oval in different colours.
Canberra Big Bash bid officials hope a packed house at Manuka Oval will be the perfect way to show Cricket Australia how serious the capital is about having its own franchise.
But for now the Thunder loom as Canberra's best bet for a BBL presence with Cricket Australia yet to announce any formal expansion plans for the league.
