No further action likely after football racial sledge

The Molonglo Juggernauts do not plan to take any further action after a player was allegedly racially vilified during the division two women's grand final against Queanbeyan on Sunday.

AFL Canberra officials investigated the incident at the ground, which occurred during the first quarter of the Queanbeyan Tigerettes' 38-point win. There were no official reports lodged, and AFL Canberra manager Steven Mahar does not expect further action to be taken.

"We've already investigated it and there's nothing official [lodged] by anyone," he said.

Juggernauts president Anthony Cutting said the club was content with the action taken by AFL Canberra to resolve the issue. "It was handled and addressed at the time by AFL Canberra. Both the club and the individual concerned was happy with the actions taken at the ground," he said.
