Hickson is one of nine New South Wales Country under 23s players plying their trade in the Canberra Raiders Cup and he is set to face Scotland in Ballina on Friday night.

Hickson scored a try for a valiant Country side that was downed 40-26 against Samoa last week and he's itching to get another taste of international rugby league in Scotland's World Cup warm-up match.

"It's been awesome," Hickson told CRL NSW.

"When we went away for a couple of days I was really keen to get back into camp again and see the boys, and get back into the routine for another big game this weekend.

"[Scotland] seems to be a young team with a lot of Super League players and that sort of thing so it's hard to know what they're going to be like.

"But they're an international side so they're obviously going to be high quality, and just like Samoa - we're going to have to rip in and give it our all, so another big test for us."
