Opals point guard Erin Phillips says the players would welcome a child to their world championship campaign, but defended Basketball Australia and its support of women.

As she prepares for an Opals training camp at the Gold Coast, Phillips said BA provided financial support to the players to the best of its ability.
However, she said the split opinion over Abby Bishop's decision to quit the team after BA introduced a new parenting policy had "got out of hand".
Bishop will not play at the world championship after being told she would have to fund flights, accommodation and a nanny for Zala, the seven-month-old baby in her care.
The main source of Bishop's frustration was the way BA handled her situation after sending the organisation a letter three weeks ago and not hearing back.
"It has come across that Abby hasn't had any support, but she has. Maybe it's not enough, I don't know," Phillips said.
"The disappointing part in all this is that it hasn't gotten through that Basketball Australia do support their athletes as best as they can, they've supported me and I know they've supported Abby.
"The Opals support Abby and the fact she's a single mother is a difficult task. It's not an easy job.
"If I was Abby I would need the funding and support and it's disappointing it's come across BA aren't offering support because that's not the case.
"We want Abby to be a part of the Opals ... and if I was in her shoes I'd want my child to come with me. Abby would definitely be welcome back."
BA initially said the new parental policy - which applies to four national teams - was to protect "the sanctity of high performance".
But it has said it would be happy for Zala to tour with the team and offered direct athlete support funding - from $6000 to $25,000 - for Bishop to use at her discretion.
Two-time Olympian Jenni Screen said: "The situation regarding Abby Bishop's decision to withdraw from the world championship campaign is very sad to say the least ... There is a plethora of talent within the women’s program of Basketball Australia. Whilst Abby will be missed, this is an opportunity for another athlete to maybe wear the green and gold for the first time.
"The next six months is massive in terms of development of our new system and continuing to build on the culture of the Opals, it’s an exciting time ahead."
