The look on Matthew Wade's face said it all. Move aside Daniel Vettori, New Zealand's Adam Milne may have knocked you off for the best catch taken by a Kiwi.
Matthew Wade out off brilliant outfield catch
Australia's Matthew Wade thought his shot was going for six against New Zealand but instead he lost his wicket off this stunning catch.
The Black Caps paceman took one of the catches of the summer to dismiss a stunned Wade in the second one-day international between Australia and New Zealand at Wellington.
Stationed on the mid-wicket boundary, Milne appeared to initially misjudge the depth of Wade's hit but with a desperate leap stuck his left paw up to pull in a one-handed blinder.
such great NZ catch to expose AUSTRALIA can haz ONLY 4 specialist batters not to mention Steve Smith mega outta form https://t.co/e59OmzhzFR— ben barren (@benbarren) February 6, 2016
A devastated Wade dropped to his haunches in disbelief, stunned he had fallen victim to such a brilliant piece of fielding.
If not for Milne's athleticism, Wade would have pocketed six runs instead of trudging back to the pavilion.
Vettori's pluck came on a far bigger stage - in a World Cup quarter-final - but Milne's was at least his equal.
