Australia claimed a 75-run win in the third and final Test against the West Indies in Dominica yesterday.

Australia overcame a defiant West Indies skipper Darren Sammy to wrap up the Test on the fifth morning, dismissing the hosts for 294 in their second innings.

Sammy went down fighting, belting a career-best 61 off just 51 deliveries as he added 49 runs for the last wicket with hometown hero Shane Shillingford (31no).

His knock included four boundaries and three sixes.

For Australia, Michael Clarke took two wickets yesterday to complete his second Test five-wicket haul, ending with 5-86 after taking some late treatment from Sammy.

Nathan Lyon grabbed three wickets, including the final scalp of Sammy, to finish with 3-87 off 29.3 overs.

The victory means Australia claims a 2-0 win in the three-Test Frank Worrell Trophy series after winning the opener in Barbados and drawing the second Test in Trinidad.

Clarke got Australia off to the perfect start, claiming a caught and bowled to remove Narsingh Deonarine (13) that TV replays showed had come off the bat after hitting the ground.

Lyon then chimed in from the other end as Ricky Ponting snared a sharp chance at short midwicket above his head to remove Carlton Baugh for 12.

The off-spinner's second wicket also came from some excellent fielding, with Clarke snaring a low diving effort to his left at slip to remove Kemar Roach (2).

Clarke completed his five-wicket haul when David Warner held onto a skied chance in the outfield to remove Ravi Rampaul after a quickfire 11 by the Windies tail-ender.

Australia were then made to wait for the final scalp before Sammy tried one big shot too many, top-edging to Ben Hilfenhaus who caught the easy chance and ended the Test.
