Brown made a composed 25 not out for Weston Creek Molonglo in the Konica Minolta Cup Twenty20 season opener in his team's total of 7-124.
A half-century from skipper Michael Spaseski, his second for the day, helped Eastlake bounce back from its earlier two-run loss to Queanbeyan on Saturday morning.
It was the first time Brown had picked up a bat in five years.
The 36-year-old is the second-highest run-scorer in ACT first-grade history, with more than 8000 runs at an average of 55.
Brown will play in all forms of the game for Weston Creek Molonglo this summer and enjoyed his return to the crease.
''The body's actually pretty good, would have felt a lot better with a win,'' Brown said.
''Those five years I was away, I was able to tick off a lot of things away from sport.
''It's important I have my family support and they've been great.''
Eastlake's bowling brigade were fantastic after leaking plenty of runs in a high-scoring affair earlier in the day.
Vele Dukoski smashed a quick-fire 69 from 34 balls, clearing the fence six times, as Queanbeyan amassed an imposing 173.
Spaseski was unbeaten on 72 and Matt Gawthorp made 58 from only 39 balls as Eastlake managed 171 in reply.
''On another day we would've won, the boys weren't sad at all,'' Spaseski said.
''To bounce back like we did, we never looked like losing the second game, it was a very controlled win.
''Our bowling was a bit sloppy in the first game, but we definitely tightened the screws in the second game.''
Tuggeranong all-rounder Matt Floros belted an unbeaten century the day before his older brother is due to contest the Ryobi Cup final for Queensland.
Floros smashed 122 before picking up 3-20 with the ball as Tuggeranong easily accounted for ANU by 67 runs at ANU North Oval.
His knock came less than 24 hours before Jason Floros aims to help Queensland claim the national 50-over title in Sunday's decider against NSW at the SCG.
Matt Floros was a part of the Australian indoor cricket team which has recently returned from winning a tri-series between India and hosts Sri Lanka.
Tuggeranong beat South Coast by 67 runs to make it a perfect two from two.
