The ACT Comets captain is keen for another taste of the Big Bash League after making a strong impression with Adelaide Strikers.

Dean completed his stint in the Twenty20 competition with a quick-fire 28 from just 13 balls in Wednesday night's one-run loss to the Melbourne Renegades.

That took his strike-rate for the tournament to a sparkling 184.37, underscoring why the 29-year-old is perfectly suited to the shortest form of the game.

Dean went out with a flurry, dispatching Test paceman Peter Siddle over the fence before he fell leg before wicket to Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan.

Apart from a run-out against the Perth Scorchers, Dean's other dismissal came at the hands of former New Zealand international Daniel Vettori in the match against Brisbane Heat.

''It's funny that the guys who have got me out, one is the best left-arm finger spinner to have played and the other is the best off-spinner,'' Dean said.

''Facing Murali, I wasn't expecting it to come that fast and spin that much, but he's world class for a reason. We sat in the change room at the end of the match and he told some funny stories.''

Dean received praise during the coverage of the match against the Renegades from Ricky Ponting. Ponting led the PM's XI team last year when Dean made 51 from 40 balls against the West Indies.

Dean hopes his performances with the Strikers lead to bigger and better things.

''I'd love to come back here next year. I've had a fantastic experience,'' he said. ''I felt much more comfortable in the last game after feeling like a deer in the headlights when I made my debut.

''Who knows where this train will take me.''

Dean's Comets teammate, left-arm paceman Ben Oakley, had limited opportunities to showcase his skills with the Strikers.

The Wests/UC captain played just two games, one of which was washed out, and took 1-50 from his four overs in his only bowling spell against the Perth Scorchers.

''Being a part of a professional cricket set-up like the Strikers has been an awesome experience,'' Oakley said.

''I'd like to have another go at it, but the reality is I may or may not get another chance.

''I've been on the cusp for the last couple years and with the team not going so well they might want to make changes.''

Oakley will return for Wests/UC when they take on Weston Creek Molonglo in a two-day game at Stirling Oval on Saturday, while Dean is hoping to be available for Queanbeyan's one-day semi-final on Sunday depending on his recovery from a hip injury.
