Bowlers failed to make an impact on batsman-friendly pitches in the opening round of the Douglas Cup.
More than 2263 runs were scored across the four games, including three double centuries.
Dean carried his bat for a superb 234 against Weston Creek Molonglo as he continued his sensational form from the previous summer.
His 300 not out against Ginninderra bodes ominously for the Tigers ahead of Saturday's rematch at Freebody Oval.
''Hopefully I can continue what I did last time for the team and for myself,'' Dean said. ''I'll be pretty focused on another big one.''
Dean believed the conditions across both the ACT, and around the country, were suited to high scores early in the summer.
''Last year was especially tough around Canberra, a lot of the wickets were suited to bowling,'' he said.
''At Test level they flatten out and are quite good for batting, so at [Sheffield] shield level they're trying to get those wickets up to standard.''
Queanbeyan hasn't lost a game in any format this season, continuing that streak with a 28-run victory in the Konica Minolta Twenty20 Cup against Wests/UC on Thursday night.
All-rounder Vele Dukoski was the star, smashing 52 from just 26 balls in a total of 6-156 before taking 3-22 with the ball to restrict Wests to 8-128.
''He's in serious nick at the moment and is one of the most talented kids I've seen in Canberra,'' Dean said.
''When he gets in the right headspace he's a quality player. He's not quite there yet, so I'm really looking forward to the day he puts it all together and makes that extra step and turns those 50s into 100s.''
