Former ACT Comets bowler Nathan Lyon has taken a step towards becoming Australia's first-choice spinner in all formats after he was selected in the one-day international and Twenty20 sides today.

Lyon has established himself in the Australian Test side after his boom rise through the cricket ranks.
But until now, he has failed to force his way into the shorter versions of the game.
Lyon and Queanbeyan junior Brad Haddin were added to the touring party for the trip to play the West Indies next month.
Lyon and Xavier Doherty are the two spinners in the squads while Haddin will join Matthew Wade as the wicketkeepers in the one-day side.
Haddin appeared to be on the outer with Australian selectors when he was axed from the 50-over side in favour of Victorian gloveman Wade.
But now the veteran has a chance to win his spot back.
Pacemen Ryan Harris and Mitchell Starc have been dropped while George Bailey and speedster James Pattinson have earned call ups.
West Australian batsman Shaun Marsh missed selection for both squads, while evergreen spinner Brad Hogg was also overlooked.
However, national selector John Inverarity said Hogg remained in strong contention for the World Twenty20 tournament later in the year when three spinners are likely to go.
Australia play five one-dayers against the Windies from March 16-25, with T20 games on March 27 and 30.
