Having taken out Friday's 20-over encounter, the Meteors made it two from two with a hard-fought three-wicket win with two balls to spare at Manuka Oval on Sunday.

Chasing 122 for victory, the Meteors threatened to come unstuck when Sally Moylan clipped a high full toss from leg-spinner Elyse Villani to a fielder at deep square leg.

Moylan and batting partner, and captain, Kris Britt, argued with the umpires it should have been called a no-ball, but after a delay of several minutes the original decision was upheld by the umpires, leaving the Meteors at 5-98 and needing 24 to win from 20 balls.

''I initially thought I was out, but we thought even with the spin bowlers, if it's above waist height it's a no-ball,'' Moylan said.

''I was out, we won the game, so it doesn't really matter.

''It was above shoulder height, but I should've put it away and not hit it straight to the fielder.''

Sent into the field after losing the toss, the Meteors made the perfect start when they claimed the key scalp of Meg Lanning - fresh off a record-breaking 175 in Saturday's 50-over match won by Victoria - for one in the first over.

But the hosts found resistance in the form of Kristy Lamb, the Victorian tailender launching a late assault with 27 off just 16 balls to lift the Spirit to a competitive 8/121.

For the second straight day, the Meteors put together a solid opening partnership.

But when Asha Smith (21) and Laura Wright (26) fell in quick succession, it was up to Britt to steer the ship.

Britt looked in control until she was run out for 38 with the score at 6-110. And when Lyndsey Askew hit one straight back to Villani, the Meteors needed eight to win with seven balls remaining.

Rhiannon Dick held her nerve, glancing the second ball of the final over down to fine leg to the boundary to tie the scores, the Meteors securing victory with a quick single with two balls to spare.

The Meteors have won four of their six games this season despite being without two fast bowlers - New Zealand international Sian Ruck and Southern Stars quick Aimee Harris.

The Meteors next take on Tasmania in Burnie from November 23-25.
