New Zealand vs Australia, second ODI: Injured Kane Richardson out, Aussies fielding

Wellington: Kane Richardson is a late scratching from Saturday's ODI in Wellington, where Australia will field first as they seek to level the three-match series against New Zealand.

Steve Smith lost the toss, revealing three changes to the XI that was belted by 159 runs in Auckland.

In-form batsman Usman Khawaja, debutant legspinner Adam Zampa and paceman Scott Boland are in for Shaun Marsh, James Faulkner and Richardson.

Richardson was named in the original side but has a sore back and will undergo scans soon.

"I was going to have a bat if I won the toss," Smith said.

Brendon McCullum announced an unchanged team and had no reservations about batting first.
