Will Pucovski has been ruled out of Victoria’s side for their cut-throat Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania this week.
Pucovski, 20, will continue to be monitored following his third concussion of the season, suffered last weekend against New South Wales.
No timeframe has been put on a return for the young gun, who had been concussed several times before this season.
He has been replaced in the 13-man Bushrangers squad by fellow batsman Eamonn Vines.
Victoria take on the Tigers in Hobart from Wednesday in what is essentially a showdown to take on Queensland in the final from March 23.
"The prospect of playing in a fourth straight Sheffield Shield final is testament to the hard work both the players and coaches have continued to put in after a slow start to the season,” Victorian chairman of selectors Andrew Lynch said.
"There’s still plenty of work to do to earn that final spot to face Queensland, and we know what it takes and will be giving it our all to be there again.”
