The Rogers brothers will return to Canberra for a family clash in the Futures League match between the ACT Comets and Western Australia second XI at Chisholm Oval.

It's the first time the Weston Creek juniors have squared off against each other since their childhood battles.

Both left Canberra to further their careers, but it's fitting the duo will return to the capital as they tussle for family bragging rights.

''We went the distance a fair bit, there's a reason I turned into a bowler and that's because he's a batter,'' Comets bowler Tom said.

''There's seven years between us so we've never played with or against each other. I'm not looking forward to bowling to him.

''John said he was just going to laugh for four days. I've watched him play everywhere and I want him to do well, so it's a weird feeling going into this game. Maybe I'll slip something into his drink at dinner [on Sunday night].''

Tom rejoined the Comets for the past two Futures League games and is plying his trade in the Sydney first grade competition with the University of NSW.

John, 26, moved to Tasmania and is now trying to force his way into the West Australian top side.

He has played 11 first class matches and scored 98 for an ACT invitational XI against India in 2008.

The Western Australia second XI also boasts two-Test spinner Michael Beer and Nathan Rimmington.
