Aley is hopeful of debuting in Wednesday's final Twenty20 game against New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval, after watching the first two matches of the series from the pavilion following her call-up into the squad to replace youngster Lauren Cheatle.

She's not part of the 14-person squad for the three-match one-day international series in New Zealand later this month, although has been placed on standby should NSW Breakers and Sydney Sixers teammate Ellyse Perry fail to overcome a hamstring tendon injury.

But coach Matthew Mott says he's considering Aley for the World Cup after watching the quick bowler with interest all summer, impressed by the competition-leading 28 wickets she took in the WBBL.

"There's still that squad of 15 for the World Cup where there will be those opportunities for players on the fringes to get selected," Mott said.

"She [Aley] wouldn't be in the mix with us at the moment if she wasn't [being considered].

"We love what she brings to the table, she's a great athlete, she's really strong and you can just see how hungry she is. Everything she's done around the group so far has been impressive.

"She brings a lot of experience and great form of recent times. It literally is trying to squeeze everyone in there at the moment."

Mott has opted for a spin-heavy focus in the Southern Stars' first two games against New Zealand this series, with left-arm orthodox Jess Jonassen, off-spinner Megan Schutt and leg-spinner Kristen Beams having played in both matches.

Megan Schutt and 19-year-old Amanda Wellington have provided the pace. The pair took 21 WBBL wickets between them this season.

Wellington has taken five wickets in the two T20 games against New Zealand, while Schutt has managed just the one and finished with 0-23 off three overs in Sunday's rain-interrupted loss.

Mott is keen to retain his spin-heavy attack for Wednesday's clash, but said he was strongly considering Aley for the decider.

"She's certainly presented extremely well for selection," Mott said.

"What we've tried to do in this series so far is look at the conditions and pick the best attack and I think it's been as tough a selection since I've been involved with our bowling attack.

"We'd all love to see her get a game and that's the hardest thing at the moment, to give her an opportunity."

Aley said her call-up to the Southern Stars squad had placed the fast-approaching World Cup in the forefront of her mind.

"When you get a call-up like this and there's a 50-over World Cup coming up in June-July, it gives you a bit of hunger and a bit of desire to push for that squad," Aley said.

"That's what's on the horizon for me and hopefully that's something that during the off-season and the pre-season, it's something that I can push for."
