And that is STUMPS - Fantastic effort from Shaun Marsh and Steve Smith!
After many questioned why he was picked in the team, Marsh has looked safe the entire day and looks to have put Australia in a position to win this test, even at this early stage. And let's not forget Steve Smith, who will go to bed tonight being stuck in the nervous nineties.
After Michael Clarke was dismissed, most Australian fans would probably have taken 300 all out...to essentially reach that mark without losing another wicket is nothing short of remarkable. 199 for the fifth wicket so far.
Thanks for following along, we'll be back to do it all again tomorrow. Be sure to send us your thought on twitter @SMHSport or myself, @TheMattBungard - cheers.
Three straight leaves from Smith before Morkel digs one in short which is fended away to end the 89th over. One to come.
Right, a three from Marsh puts Smith on strike with four balls left in this over. Will he go for it?
And as I say that, Smith ends the over with a boundary! He's up to 90. Will be a nervous sleep for him, in all likelihood.
The runs have essentially dried up in the last few overs - just 14 balls to in the day, these two will be focused on making sure they don't do anything silly.Back to top
We might be willing Smith to go for his 100 tonight, but he's showing remarkable patience here. Wants nothing to do with these good length balls outside off that Steyn is offering.
Marsh with another boundary, moves to 115 - 5 overs to go for the day.
Lovely timing from Smith, through the covers again! 85 now!
Steyn back into the attack, new ball taken. This tweet about sums it up...
Pfft, new ball, best bowler in the world. That's nothing. #SAvAus— Ethan (@ethan_meldrum) February 12, 2014
Another crashing cover drive from Smith! He's up to 81!Back to top
Smith with a boundary behind square, and he's heading closer towards that magic number...
80 overs down, the new ball is available but for now Duminy will continue..
250 up for the Aussies, shortly after these two had reached 150 run partnership. Superb resolve from the Australians.
Smith pulls off the back foot, four more for him!
Flick of the wrists, it's down to square leg and that will do it!!! A century for Shaun Marsh!! Take a bow, son. And take a bow, selectors. This looks an inspired decision.Back to top
Smith with a cover drive from the last ball of the over to bring up 50! Superb knock.
So now, it will be Marsh to face on 99..
Marsh with a single, he moves to 99!
A flick off the pads, they get two and he's up to 98...
Marsh almost threw it away!!! It skipped up on him, he got an edge but it dropped well short of the slips - lucky! He's on 96...
