Canberra cyclist Rebecca Wiasak is staking her claim for a spot at next year's Commonwealth Games after winning her second medal at the track World Cup round in Manchester.

A day after collecting a bronze in the women's team pursuit, Wiasak went one better with a silver in the women's 3000 metres individual pursuit on Sunday morning Canberra time.
Wiasak went down to Britain's Joanna Rowsell in the final, the reigning Olympic champion showing her experience to claim a one-second victory.
Rowsell held just a two-tenths of a second advantage over the first 2000 metres before powering away over the final few laps, stopping the clock in 3:34.341 seconds ahead of Wiasak (3:35.629).
This is Wiasak's second World Cup event after her debut in Mexico earlier this year.
The 29-year-old is a late bloomer in the sport having previously competed in triathlon. She has made a successful transition to the track and is aiming to force her way into the Australian team for next year's world championships and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Wiasak will aim to continue her strong form as the World Cup next heads to Mexico.
