Trninic refuted claims he had been appointed head coach of Tuggeranong United for 2013 ahead of today's match between Canberra FC and Tuggeranong.
He attributed their mounting injury toll and inadequate training sessions run by his predecessor, Robbie Graham, as key factors in the powerhouse club losing its grip on the league championship for the first time in six years. ''I've had three offers for next year, including a very good one from Canberra FC, but nothing's been decided,'' said Trninic, who declined to reveal who the other two clubs were.
Canberra FC will finish the regular season in either third or fourth place, having drawn the past five games and won five of the 12 matches with Trninic in charge.
Trninic is regarded as one of the most successful coaches in recent history in the ACT, having been at the helm when Canberra FC dominated the competition from 2003-05. He was the club's coaching director this year before returning to coaching duties after Graham was sacked in the wake of the club's embarrassing loss to lowly Monaro Panthers in May.
''The players were very unfit when I took over,'' Trninic said.
''They were doing 65-minute training sessions, which is nowhere near enough.
''You can see that in the injuries we've had.
''To have seven or eight players out and to hold clubs like Belconnen to draws, you can see we haven't given up.''
Canberra FC president Marko Vrkic said plans were already in place for next season, and he hoped Trninic would stay on as coach.
Tuggeranong United president Anthony Corder said no appointment for next year had been made and who the applicants were for the job would remain confidential.
