Canberra golfer Brendan Jones has made a name for himself on the Japan Golf Tour, racking up 13 wins since 2002.
But wins have been hard to come by lately, with Jones' last tour victory coming nearly three years ago.
In a bid to return to winning ways, the Canberran has reverted to his old clubs, brushing aside the latest equipment when he tees off in the ISPS Handa Global Cup on Thursday.
"I try all the new equipment that Callaway come out with," Jones said.
"The problem was at the start of this year they sent me new clubs a week before the tour started, so I only had a week to get used to them. I took them up there and the first couple of weeks, I didn't have that feel with them.
"So I went back to an old set, finished 10th that week, and [since] then I've been making cuts the last three tournaments but haven't been finishing.
"I've got a set of clubs that I've had a lot of success with over the years and I'm going to take them back and use them the next few tournaments. Hopefully having that success with these clubs will get me back on track."
Jones said he hasn't been performing as well as he would like, but maintains the belief that his best golf may be just around the corner.
Of the seven tournaments he's played this year, he's made the cut in five of them – including the last four – but has only had one top-10 finish.
That came in The Crowns, where he finished equal 10th in May.
"My form hasn't been fantastic but I don't feel that it's far off," Jones said.
"I just need to improve by 10 per cent and I'll be away again, so it's been a little frustrating not playing as well as I know I can and not putting the performances on the board."
If you thought Jones would be putting in extra work on the fairway to find that 10 per cent in the lead-up to his next tournament, think again.
"I haven't practiced a lot over my career because I've been a very consistent player," Jones said.
"I'm going back over old footage of when I've won tournaments, just to see if there's something that I can pick up that just jogs the memory.
"You only need one little thing to click and straight away you're back playing like you used to play. You have your good tournaments, you have your bad tournaments, and right now I'm somewhere in between."
Canberra's Matthew Millar is also part of the ISPS Handa Global Cup field.
