She reckons a host of imports, combined with More Joyous, will form an imposing field at Randwick next month.
''The next few weeks will tell you exactly how the field will pan out,'' Waterhouse said.
''It may this year, with the imports and the likes of More Joyous, Pierro and Proisir - just three from my yard - they could end up being one of the hottest Doncasters in a long time. If the imports like Fiorente keep their form, this is an international field lining up on Doncaster day.''
But first Waterhouse will head to Canberra and she rated Indianapolis as her best chance at Thoroughbred Park on Super Sunday. The Redoute's Choice gelding is on the fifth line of betting for the listed Canberra Guineas (1400 metres) at $13 with ACTTAB.
Waterhouse, a member of the Australian Racing Hall of Fame, said the three-year-old was a ''lovely, big type - rangy Redoute's. I like Indianapolis,'' she told The Canberra Times. ''I like the fresh horse resuming, but the three of them should run well - they're nice horses, they should run well.''
Her choice might seem surprising given she has $4.80 second-favourite Fast Clip in the listed Canberra Centenary Cup (2000m).
Fast Clip won last year's group 3 Doncaster Prelude (1600m) before finishing fifth in the group 1 Doncaster Mile a week later.
The son of Snippetson also saluted in the group 2 Tulloch Stakes (2000m) in 2011.
''He's just short of group 1 level, he's a very handy group 2-group 3 horse, he's a very honest horse,'' Waterhouse said.
''He's one of my most favoured horses in the stable and he looks a picture - I was only looking at him this morning and he really looks fantastic.''
Waterhouse said Black Opal Stakes day was an important part of the racing calendar and plenty of racing fans headed down the Hume Highway from Sydney to make a weekend of it.
She also has Mr Jackman ($9) running in the Black Opal. She said it was more seasoned than Later Gator, third last year.
