Friday night's major semi-final at the Lyneham Netball Centre will be another chapter in the rivalry between the two clubs.
Canberra won back-to-back championships in 2011 and 2012 before Arawang turned the tables to claim last year's title.
Arawang has held the upper hand in both of their meetings this year, but Symons knows that counts for little at the business end of the season.
“There is no doubt the intensity of finals netball goes up a cog,” Symons said.
“Even though we’ve beaten Canberra twice this year, form means nothing unless you produce the goods in the big games that mean the most.
“The quality of the four teams left in the competition is such that you only have to be off your game a fraction and the opposition will punish you.”
The loser of the Arawang v Canberra clash will take on the winner of the minor semi-final between Tuggeranong and Belconnen.
Tuggeranong is desperate to bounce back from last week's shock loss to bottom placed Queanbeyan, which cost it a chance of finishing in the top two.
ACT State League semi-finals: Major semi-final: Arawang v Canberra. Minor semi-final: Tuggeranong v Belconnen. Both games at the Lyneham Netball Centre at 7.30pm.
