A-League preview: week 21

Adelaide United 5 v Wellington Phoenix 1, Coopers Stadium

Roar v Glory, Suncorp Stadium, 8pm

Is the table-topping Roar in a lull? It hasn't scored in its past two games, but it's August 2010 since it hasn't found the net in three consecutive matches. Perth is ninth and must arrest a winless streak of six games.

Mariners v Sydney FC, Bluetongue Stadium, 5.30pm

The Mariners' slide continues, now sixth on the ladder after four successive defeats it's the reigning champions' worst losing sequence since December 2009. But who can predict Sydney's fortunes in its topsy-turvy season?

Heart v Victory, AAMI Park, 7.45pm

The Victory's stirring win against Adelaide gave it some breathing space in third spot but not much. It's on a four-game unbeaten stretch against its home town rival. The Heart have won four in a row, though no club has won five consecutive games this season.

Wanderers v Jets, Pirtek Stadium, 5pm

The Wanderers are cruising along in second spot, with their miserly defence helping keep eight clean sheets. Pit that against Newcastle, which has failed to score in nine games.
