Still smarting after last month's shock 2-0 loss to Jordan, the Socceroos know anything less than the three points against Kyrgyzstan at Canberra Stadium on Thursday night will be an unwanted roadblock on their road to Russia in 2018.

The depth of the Socceroos will be tested with central defender Matt Spiranovic (injury) and striker Mathew Leckie (illness) both having missed the trip to the national capital.

There are also doubts over the fitness of defender Jason Davidson (calf) and goalkeeper Mat Ryan (knee), although Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou declared on Wednesday both players would be available.

With three of their final four games at home, and their only away fixture coming against lowly Bangladesh next Tuesday, the Socceroos are still in a great position to qualify for the next round.

They are second in the group, sitting four points behind leaders Jordan and one point above Kyrgyzstan, and have a game in hand on both of those countries.

Jedinak returns to lead the Socceroos after missing the past two camps through injury.

"To have him back is great. And to have him back in the angry mood he's in is even better," Postecoglou said.

"The one thing you can't fast-track is experience.

"A lot of these guys, it's their first World Cup qualifying campaign and Mile's been through it before."

Jedinak has had limited game time for his club side Crystal Palace in the English Premier League, but said he's got no troubles getting through a full stint if called upon.

"I played 90 minutes a couple of weeks ago and I got through the game physically very well," Jedinak said.

"I don't know if I'm angry, it's more keen and ready to get out there.

'I've missed the last two camps and I can't remember the last time I missed back-to-back camps, so you can imagine watching results in Perth and not being able to go to Jordan was really disappointing.

"But being here, I'm enjoying every minute of it."

The Socceroos won't be under-estimating Kyrgyzstan after scraping through with a 2-1 win when the two teams met in Bishkek.

"When it's a World Cup qualifier, and those things are at stake, it's always going to be tough," Jedinak said.

"Not every game is going to be managed.

"You're going to be under pressure. You've seen enough of that in the 12 months to say that we've been able to do that in abundance.

"We are going to come under pressure in games, but it's how we respond to that on the pitch as a group."

Perth Glory defender Josh Risdon and James Meredith, who plays for Bradford City in the third tier of English football, could be a chance of making their international debuts with the absences in the squad.

Postecoglou was confident he had built up the depth in the squad during the past two years he has been in charge.

"The work we've done in the last two years means I'm not nearly as stressed about people dropping out as I was previously," Postecoglou said.

"The guys who are here all presented themselves in good condition and good form.

"Apart from Josh Risdon and James Meredith, all of them have good experience at international football. I'm a lot more comfortable.

"And to be honest, our last performance wasn't great, I would have made changes anyway.

"I'm certainly not losing any sleep about the guys who aren't here.

"The work we've done in the last two years I'm pretty comfortable with the eleven we'll put out tomorrow."
