Live: Western Sydney Wanderers v Brisbane Roar

Show comments

FULL-TIME: The top of the table clash ends in a 1-1 draw. Labinot Haliti neutralised Besart Berisha's first half goal late on after huge Wanderers pressure. Both sets of fans can be reasonably happy, but the result favours the visitors who maintain the 7 point gap at the top. The Premier's Plate is probably gone, but as Wanderers fans know, it is a paper trophy.

The home side really ramped up the pressure for the last hour, and will be concerned that they lacked the cutting edge to hurt the Roar further. The Wanderers again relied heavily on Ono and Hersi to make things happen, as well as Mooy with his hit and miss deliveries. They'll need to bring in a couple of replacements next year to maintain their impressive A-League record.

Brisbane will be happy with a point away from home, and the likes of Brattan and Berisha can go home happy. Broich had a quiet game by his standards, while McKay was missed.

Thanks for your company. Join us again next time.

Henrique is doing his best to force something here, but he is crowded out in the midfield. We have a tender moment as Matt Smith falls over the byline and is caught in a cuddle by future triumphant Socceroos manager Tony Popovic.

We'll have three minutes of added time here, and it'll begin with a Roar corner. More drama to come. Brattan picks out Franjic on the edge of the box, who spoons it over impressively.

So this one looks destined for a draw here, which is just about right. The Roar will be far happier with that than the Wanderers, who were desperate to close the gap and keep the battle for the plate alive.

Brattan whips it in. Everyone misses it predictably and it bounces across the goal. Roar recover and are pushing hard.

Haliti was booked for his celebration after the goal. Silly. The free-kick goes straight into the wall and out for a corner.

The Roar try to play it into the box. Berisha runs into Topor-Stanley and buys a free-kick right in front. DANGER!

That was a long time coming - even if it looked like they could play all night and not get on the sheet. Should be a cracking last five minutes or so here!

GOAL! Labinot Haliti has put the ball in and lit up the final ten minutes! Juric looked like he was held in the box as Mooy curled it in. It sneaks through to Haliti ghosting at the back post, and he adjusts his body to finish under control.

The Wanderers have given it everything tonight, but the Roar's defence has stood firm. In open play, it has held up well - but they have gifted far too many free-kicks and defended them haphazardly. I fancy another goal here. Could go either way, with chances opening up at both ends. Wanderers are losing concentration at the back as they push on. They might as well - 2-0 makes no odds to them, but a draw would be something.

JURIC GOES DOWN IN THE BOX. The crowd appeals, the player doesn't. No pen. Theo took down the player but well after he'd cleared the ball legally. Correct decision.

Broich is trying to make things happen. Anything to light up this dull period. He finds Brattan, who finds Covic with a high cross.

Haliti and Juric come on for Bridge and Santalab. Good options, coming on to replace two who put in a good shift. Sensible stuff from Poppa.

So, fifteen minutes to go here, and it's become a scrappy encounter here in Parramatta. Still no luck for the Wanderers, who are looking increasingly desperate - and pushing forward. Big gaps starting to open up in behind, and Berisha has that glint in his eye.

CHANCE! Mark Bridge flashes one past the near post when he should have done better.

SO CLOSE: Henrique flashes one past the post after a great flick over the top of the defence form Luke Brattan. Covic beaten, that would have been curtains.

Excellent possession play from the Wanderers. Mooy curls in an inviting cross, and it's put behind. The ball pings about from the second phase, and Santalab acrobatically. High and wide.
