Australian international Matt McKay is set to leave crisis-hit Scottish giants Rangers to join South Korean team Busan I'Park, it was confirmed on Wednesday.

McKay, 29, joined Rangers last year from Brisbane Roar but has struggled to nail down a place in manager Ally McCoist's plans, making just two competitive appearances this season.

"Rangers have confirmed today that a fee has been agreed with Busan but that negotiations on the transfer are still continuing," Rangers said in a statement on their website.

Scottish football has been reeling since Rangers were placed in administration last week following the non-payment of around millions of pounds in taxes since Craig Whyte's takeover of the club in May 2011.

The Old Firm side were immediately docked 10 points by the Scottish Premier League to all but end their hopes of clinching their fourth title in a row.

Administration is the process whereby a troubled company calls upon independent expert financial help in a bid to remain operational.
