South Africa has named a strong squad for the friendly match against Australia on May 26 calling-up a number of European based players including Crystal Palace midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi.

Despite the match being six weeks away, South Africa coach Bernard Igesund has already named his 18-man squad for their friendly against the Socceroos at ANZ Stadium and has called up eight available overseas based players.

Dikgacoi, teammate of Australia's Mile Jedinak at Palace, leads the contingent from abroad along with Ajax star Thulani Serero, Genk defender Anelel Ngcongca and Rostov's Siyanda Xulu. 

24-year-old midfielder Themba Zwane can make his international debut after earning selection on the back of a number of strong performances in the South African Premier Soccer League.

South Africa will also play a friendly away to New Zealand four days after facing Australia. Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou will not name his squad until later in May.
