Rogic's impressive return to form this season after missing a lot of time with a groin injury has seen the 23-year-old Canberra product become hot property on the transfer market.

But Celtic manager Ronny Delia made it clear the club wants to extends Rogic's contract, which expires at the end of next season.

"We want to re-sign Tom Rogic and have him here at the club for the future," Delia said.

"He has made great progress and we see a lot of potential in him.

"He can get much better because he has only played for six months and been out for a year before that.

"He needs time and he's going to stay here at Celtic."

Leeds are reported to value the transfer fee for Rogic's services at A$2 million, but may have to triple that for Celtic to entertain the prospect of changing their stance.

"He has to be happy," Delia said.

"He was very frustrated last year going around injured, but we told him that we believed in him and we would give him another chance.

"He has come in and shown his quality, but he still has things to work on to reach his full potential."

Rogic has been simply terrific for Celtic, scoring six goals in 24 appearances in all competitions and setting up four more.

It's that dynamic form that catapulted Rogic back into the national team for last year's World Cup qualifiers.

Before this season, Rogic had played only 15 games for Celtic since joining the Scottish heavyweights from the Central Coast Mariners on a four-and-a-half-year deal in January, 2013, with the transfer fee reported to be A$800,000.

Rogic's impact was limited with a succession of groin injuries that forced him to miss the 2014 World Cup.

But with those injury dramas now firmly in the past, Rogic is viewed as the type of dynamic attacking weapon that could keep Leeds out of the relegation zone.

While they are still within sight of the final spot in the Premier League promotion race – 12 points behind sixth-placed Brighton and Hove Albion – Leeds will also be wary of sliding down the table.

Currently 15th in the Championship, Leeds is known among Australian fans for playing a vital role in the careers of Socceroos greats Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell.

The Mariners will receive a 20 per cent cut of Rogic's transfer fee thanks to a clause inserted into his contract.

Rogic's immediate focus will be helping Celtic maintain their spot on top of the table in Saturday's away fixture to Dundee United.
