That's a wrap.  That's it from us on what has been a very sad morning for sports fans everywhere.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of Jon Mannah along with his many admirers, friends and teammates.

Stay tuned to smh.com.au however because we're now heading to live coverage of Lance Armstrong's interview with Oprah with Scott Spits driving the ship, along with expert analysis from Rupert Guinness and Sam Lane.  And after that we head north for Phil Lutton to take us through the third one-dayer between Australia and Sri Lanka.

RIP John Mannah. Wallaby Kurtley Beale among the many to pay their respects...

Football. He may not have the fame for free-kicks that Alessandro Del Piero does, but that isn't stopping Pedj Bojic from staying back after training to practice his set pieces like the Italian. The Mariners right defender braved the soaring heat in Gosford to practice his long range shots after training in hope of adding to his tally of two goals from set pieces this season. Bojic does not have the consistent accuracy of the Italian star, but he is generating a great deal of power and a wicked late bend off his right boot that will make A-League goalkeepers nervous when he steps up to a dead ball.

Football. Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou says defender Nick Ansell will miss tomorrow’s A-League clash with the Glory in Perth because of a groin injury. Leigh Broxham comes into the side for the Victory who’ll also be without suspended midfielder Billy Celeski. The third-placed Victory have only two wins from 11 games in Perth but are confident of success against the sixth-placed Glory.

RIP Jon Mannah. Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has paid tribute to Jon Mannah by declaring the club a better place for having called him one of its own.
“Everyone here at the Sharks is better for knowing Jonny Mannah. The club and a lot of the players are better off for having known such a gentleman. We didn’t really know about what he was going through because he was just so tough and he never really showed any signs of ‘poor me’. He was always respectful."

RIP Jon Mannah. Front-rowers don't score too many tries but one of the two that Jon Mannah registered during his 24-game career came on a night when the Sharks wore a yellow strip to support the fight against cancer.
