Olympic Games gold medallist Alicia Coutts will be among the elite swimmers who will be forced to find other training facilities after a leak was detected in the high-tech pool at the Australian Institute of Sport.
The leak is estimated to take between three and six months to repair at an estimated cost of $2 million.
Repairs will be delayed until July next year so there is minimal disruption to the swimmers’ training schedule in the lead-up to major events.
The Australian swimming championships will be held from April 26 to May 3 next year, which will be followed by the world titles in Spain from July 28 to August 4.
The Australian Sports Commission is expected to release more details later on Monday.
