They were used as crocodile bait yesterday but Tom Murday and Tom Cox will face their biggest challenge when they get thrown into the Super Rugby deep end tonight.
Most ACT Brumbies fans know little about the rookie duo.
But with coach Jake White ushering in a new era of Brumbies, Murday and Cox will get their opportunity to impress when they play in a trial against the Western Force in Darwin.
Lock Murday will get his chance in the starting XV while Cox will be keen to get into open space and use his blistering speed to show he is capable of playing Super Rugby.
Murday trained full-time with the Brumbies before Christmas, but started a job as a landscaper in Dickson last month not knowing if he would be invited back into White's squad.
But he trained well enough to earn another call from the Brumbies and yesterday Murday joined five of his new teammates at Crocosauraus Cove and jumped into the water with only a glass cage between the 22-year-old and bone-crushing jaws.
''It's all come about pretty quickly, I started a job last month and had my first day, then the Brumbies called and asked me if I wanted to train again,'' Murday said. ''I had to say no thanks to the job ... I feel very comfortable at this level and ... don't feel out of my depth.'' Chris Dutton
