Local sailors pulled off the quinella at the NSW/ACT Laser Championship on Lake Burley Griffin on Sunday, with Bruce Paine winning the standard rig title and Shane Gaddes finishing second in a fleet of 44 entrants.

Gaddes had led the fleet after the first day of racing, but a sixth and fourth-place finish in the two final-day races left the door open for the strong-finishing Paine.
The master sailor took third place in the first race on Sunday, and won the last to secure the state title in light winds.
It was Paine's first regatta win in a laser - the former national champion in the spiral class only bought his boat a year ago to compete in the Masters World Championships.
Rounding out the placegetters in the standard rig was Sydney's Robert Lowndes of Middle Harbour Amateur Sailing Club.
''He [Lowndes] won the first race and I think if he'd won the second one he would have been right up there pressing for first place, so I worked on him and pipped him right near the end of the race,'' Paine said.
Canberra Yacht Club finished with four top-10 places in the ''big rigs'', with Richard Longbottom and John Tracey the other top locals.
In the radial class, teenager Cassandra Schlimbach was Canberra's top performer, finishing fifth in the field of 37. The class was dominated by Middle Harbour's Cam Hooper, who won the title.
In the 4.7 fleet, Canberra Yacht Club members Christopher Phillips, Kelsey Hanrahan and Noah Taylor finished in third, fourth and fifth place.
The trio were unable to topple Sydney sailors Shaun Connor and Brodie Crossman, who took the double for RPA Yacht Club in the field of 18.
