Wigan defender Paul Scharner was added to Austria's squad for next month's World Cup qualifiers against France and Lithuania despite struggling with an ankle injury.
Scharner was called up Sunday by Austria coach Karel Bruckner, who left him out of the preliminary squad announced earlier this week.
Scharner missed Wigan's match against Hull on Saturday but will be fully recovered in time for Austria's first qualifying match against France in Vienna on Saturday, the Austrian football federation said in a statement.
Brucker was expected to add one or two more players to his 20-man squad later Sunday.
Austria is in World Cup qualifying Group 7, which also includes Romania, Serbia and the Faeroe Islands.
