Move over prints, magnets, stubbie holders, playing cards and tea towels. Here comes the Beautiful Bus Shelters of Canberra 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle.
Dickinson tells us his new jigsaws will be in stock from next week, while his 2021 calendars, featuring more bus shelters, have arrived.
The first bus shelter calendar was released for this year and proved to be a hit.
"It went really well. All of them sold out quite quickly. So this year, I've ordered more," he said. "I sent a lot to shops, so I think they're going to do alright."
The 45 x 61cm, 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle features 12 bus shelters from around the capital.
"They're kind of the favourites, but also ones that are contrast-y," he said.
"I got advice from people who did jigsaws a lot and also had a go at a couple just to remind myself, and it's really about providing a bit of contrast with it. So there are bits you can do quite quickly, but then it becomes a bit harder when you get to the trees and stuff. It's fun to do."
"On the side of the jigsaw box, I have included a QR code that links to a downloadable picture for phones. So no more arguing over the box lid. This is the future of jigsaw puzzles."
Dickerson's designs of bus shelters also feature on ACTION buses and the light rail vehicles. He was also commissioned by Westfield Woden to do a mural on the corner of The Barvarian pub last year.
The Newcastle-based artist hasn't been able to sell his products face-to-face at markets due to COVID-19, but 2020 hasn't been all doom and gloom.
"It's been actually alright," he said.
"When COVID started, the commissioned dried up, so I started on a couple of books and the jigsaw and calendar and just started preparing things for Christmas. I've been selling online and to the shops and things have just been ticking over."
His first bus shelter book will come out in November and he plans a book of Canberra drawings for next year.
"The book will be every one of the Canberra bus shelters and some background and photographs of all the shelters in suburb order," he said. To see the range, go to www.trevordickinson.com
