Abode Belconnen is the eighth property to join the Abode Hotels portfolio, and the second to open this year.
Iconic Hotels general manager Rien Donkin said significance of opening a new hotel at a time when many others across the market had been forced to close their doors, was not lost on him
"The entire travel industry has faced extreme and unforeseen challenges this year, and the travel landscape as we knew it has changed dramatically," Mr Donkin said.
"Abode Hotels' ability to push forward with today's opening is a testament to the brand's strength and agility, established guest loyalty, and commitment from the wider Iconic Hotels team, and I couldn't be more delighted to be celebrating the opening of Abode Belconnen."
Located at 3 Grazier Lane, Belconnen Abode is the sixth Abode Hotel to open in Canberra, with the brand's other two properties situated in New South Wales, in Murrumbateman and Malua Bay.
Part of Geocon's mixed-use Republic precinct, Abode Belconnen, includes Canberra's second No.10 Restaurant + Bar, also owned and operated by Iconic Hotels, which opened on Wednesday. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It joins a sister venue in Woden Town Centre.
Director of food and beverage Joe Wagland said the new venue was an exciting milestone for the No.10 Restaurant + Bar brand.
