The government announced $230 million for infrastructure projects for the regions surrounding Canberra when it delivered its delayed 2020-21 budget on Tuesday.

Deputy Premier John Barilaro spruiked the funding for new facilities in Googong and Murrumbateman as a way to stop NSW children needing to attend school in the ACT.

But there was no direct funding allocated to promised high schools in Bungendore and Jerrabomberra this financial year.

The long-awaited Googong primary school has been allocated $2 million, while the proposed Murrumbateman primary school will receive $3 million.

No such funding has been allocated for the proposed Bungendore and Jerrabomberra high schools for the second state government budget in a row.

However, according to the budget papers, both received a sliver of funding last financial year. There was $187,000 given to the Bungendore high school and $124,000 given to the Jerrabomberra school.

Other schools in the region have been allocated funding for upgrades.

Yass High School is set to get $790,000, of which $515,000 will be allocated to improvements of a school hall. Queanbeyan West Public School will receive $481,000 for upgrades.

Jindabyne Central School has been allocated $4.3 million.

A further $14 million has also been allocated to finish the new Queanbeyan school for special needs students.

"This is about our children, investing in our kids, their education, but more importantly in our community, keeping our kids on our side of the border," Mr Barilaro said.

The NSW government has also allocated almost $24 million towards the duplication of the Barton Highway.

As well, $1 million has been pledged for safety improvements to the Monaro Highway between Williamsdale and Cooma.

A further $63.6 million has been allocated to the Batemans Bay bridge replacement and $30 million will be spent on the Nelligen Bridge replacement.

There has also been funding allocated to hospital and health service upgrades across the region.

The Goulburn Hospital redevelopment has been allocated $60.7 million. The overall redevelopment is expected to cost $150 million. $3.5 million has also been allocated to the Cooma Hospital redevelopment and $10 million for the Eurobodalla Health Service redevelopment.

The Queanbeyan Courthouse upgrade, expected to be completed next year, will get $8.5 million.
