Myki packs to make life easier for tourists
Tourists to Melbourne will be able to buy a myki visitor pack from July 1.
A full-fare visitor pack will cost $14 and will include $8 of myki money, enough for a day of travel in zone one.
A concession visitor pack (general concession, child and seniors) will be $7 and will include $4 of myki money.
Simple top-up instructions will be included with a map and about $140 of discounts to 15 attractions including the Eureka Skydeck, Puffing Billy, Melbourne Aquarium and Old Melbourne Gaol.
The packs will be sold at 300 locations including airports, hotels, tourist information centres and Southern Cross Station.
The visitor pack was launched this afternoon by the Public Transport Minister Terry Mulder and Tourism and Major Events Minister Louise Asher.
It has been welcomed by the tourism industry.
Victoria Tourism Industry Council chief executive Dianne Smith said the initiative would help drive visitors to the state's tourist attractions and experiences.
The pack will cater for about 20 million domestic and international visitors to Victoria each year.
