Apology

Date

On 23 May 2009, The Age published articles in the Insight section of the Saturday Age and online headed respectively 'Death in Branxholme' and 'Branxholme Death Mystery', written by Andrew Rule.

In the articles reference was made to Mrs Elizabeth Mooney, the wife of the late Anthony Mooney. The Age and Mr Rule did not intend to convey that Mrs Mooney was in any way implicated in her husband's death, nor that she was a cold, uncaring wife and mother, nor that she married her husband for personal gain.

If Mrs Mooney or any reader of the articles understood them to bear any of those meanings The Age and Mr Rule unreservedly apologise to Mrs Mooney for the hurt and distress she has suffered by publication of the articles.
