Police are worried that stolen guns are circulating in the community, after a number of valuable firearms were taken from a property in western Victoria.
A Corangamite Lake Road house, near Colac, was broken into some time between 10am and 5.15pm on Wednesday. A number of guns were stolen from a locked gun safe.
Colac Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Chris Potter said "stolen guns out in the community is not a good thing".
"It appears that the guns were what the thieves were after, as other valuable items were not taken," he said.
