Emergency warnings issued as fires threaten townships near Horsham

An emergency warning has been issued to residents near Horsham as two fast-moving and out-of-control bushfires approaches several townships.

Country Fire Authority has urged residents of Roses Gap, Heathvale, Laharum, Zumsteins and Wartook to leave.

CFA and Department of Environment and Primary Industries fire fighters reported spotfires and ember attacks across Roses Gap Road.

Both fires are travelling south from Pohlners Road towards the Wartook Valley.

Emergency services warned that if leaving the area was not possible, residents should seek shelter at the relief centre at Horsham Senior Citizens Centre in Roberts Avenue, or go to the home of family or friends who live outside the warning area.
