Gunned down in the street: guilty plea over wife's death

Date

Andrea Petrie

A man has pleaded guilty to gunning down his ex-wife in a Mulgrave street.

In Victoria's Supreme Court on Tuesday, Denis Delich pleaded guilty to murdering Almasa Locic on November 1, 2011.

The 55-year-old mother of two died after being shot multiple times outside her home in Bertrand Avenue about noon.

The pair are understood to have been separated for about seven years before her death.

When asked how he pleaded to the charge, 61-year-old Delich told Justice Paul Coghlan: "I plead guilty".

The unemployed disability pensioner, formerly of Warneet, was remanded in custody to appeal for a pre-sentence plea hearing on March 27.
