A 22-year-old Melbourne driver has been charged after a hit-and-run crash which has left a motorcyclist critically injured.
Police say it's believed the driver who collided with the rider in Melbourne's east last week appeared to stop his car briefly after the crash before speeding off.
The collision occurred at the intersection of the South Gippsland Highway and Princes Highway in Dandenong around 9.50pm (AEDT) on Friday.
The motorcyclist remains in hospital with critical injuries.
Police arrested a 22-year-old man, of Pakenham, 56km south-east of Melbourne at around 1am (AEDT) on Sunday.
He has now been charged with negligently causing serious injury, failing to stop, and failing to render assistance.
The man will appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
