A man has been charged with indecently assaulting a Chilean tourist during an aggravated burglary in a Melbourne motel.
The 39-year-old St Kilda East man was charged with aggravated burglary, trespass and indecent assault, police said on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old tourist was sleeping in a motel when the man allegedly entered her room in the bayside suburb of St Kilda on Friday.
She has told police the man assaulted her while she was lying on the bed.
Police say she then chased him out of her room and alerted staff at the Carlisle Street motel.
The man has been released on bail to appear at the Moorabbin Magistrates Court on January 31.
