Police were given a rude shock during a random drink and drug driving check in Melbourne's west when a man pulled into the site while smoking a joint.
In what turned out to be a busy - and interesting - night for police across Melbourne, officers at the Keilor Park Drive testing site said the 40-year-old man was puffing away on a joint as he pulled in to be tested on Saturday afternoon.
When searching his car, police also found a small quantity of cannabis. The man is expected to be charged with drug driving, and has received a drug caution.
Meanwhile, another man was caught drink driving after he smashed into a stationary car on James Street, Dandenong, about 7.30pm on Saturday.
The 36-year-old man returned a positive result of 0.213 when tested at the police station, and is expected to be charged on summons for drink driving offences, driving under the influence and for careless driving.
A teenage driver from Fitzroy North is also excepted to be charged with various driving offences after he refused to be breath tested at the Maroondah Highway, Coldstream site, and told police he would "rather go drinking" instead.
The 19-year-old man is expected to be charged with refusing to accompany police, failing to display a “P' plate, using an un-roadworthy vehicle, and carrying a passenger occupying the same seating position as another.
At 9pm, police arrested another driver, a 25-year-old Hoppers Crossing man, after he was seen driving his white Hyundai through a red light and on the wrong side of the road.
He is expected to be charged with drink driving, disqualified driving, using an unregistered vehicle and other traffic related charges.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the erratic driver, and ask that they phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
