Minor delays now on the Werribee and Williamstown lines due to congestion in both directions...

Our letter of the day is from Anthony James of Fitzroy: I met Tommy Hafey twice. The first time was in 2007 when he was a guest speaker at a big event on global warming run by the Understandascope - based on the Leunig cartoon. He came with green footy in hand and talked about keeping fit and loving life as a remedy to all ills. The second time was in the ocean at Portsea. At age 80, in six to eight-foot swell, he was ripping it up on his wave-ski, those arms as strong as ever. In between sets, he happily chatted with us younger blokes about his time in footy. I was out of the water before him and lay down for a rest; he set off for a run to Sorrento.

Today's Odd Spot: A cat has been reunited with its owners more than three years after going missing in the Japanese tsunami. The owners, from Ofunato, searched for Suika for three months before giving up hope. The cat, which was wearing a collar with the faded contact details of its owners, was found curled up in a nearby pine forest.
