Murder accused breaks down in court

A woman charged with the murder of a man in Ringwood has appeared in court, and cried through a short administrative hearing.

Lisa Marie Clark, 39, appeared briefly before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with killing Rodney Leo Clark on Saturday.

Ms Clark, dressed in a black T-shirt with the number 37 on the back and with her long brown hair worn down, cried while in the dock and at one point mouthed "I love you" to three supporters seated in court.

Paramedics were called to a home in Berkley Road on Saturday night and found a man in his 40s with a stab wound. He could not be revived and died at the scene.

Ms Clark was arrested at the scene. Police have said the man and woman were known to each other, but have not explained the extent of the relationship.

The court heard Ms Clark, of Ringwood, suffered from depression and anxiety and was on prescribed medication.

She was remanded in custody to return to court on October 6.
