Police are looking for witnesses to the stabbing death of mother-of-four, Fiona Warzywoda, in Melbourne's west.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Cath Allen said an information caravan would be operating near the intersection of Hampshire and Devonshire Roads, Sunshine, from about 12.25pm on Thursday.

Ms Warzywoda, 33, of Melton West, was allegedly stabbed to death by her de-facto husband in the middle of a busy Sunshine shopping strip in broad daylight on Wednesday, April 16.

Police said Ms Warzywoda had left her solicitor's office just minutes before she was stabbed multiple times in front of lunchtime shoppers on the corner of Hampshire and Devonshire roads, Sunshine.

Craig McDermott, 38, handed himself in to police on Thursday morning after spending a day on the run.

Mr McDermott, of Sunshine North, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court later that night, charged with the murder and was remanded until August 7.

Ms Allen said police were asking for anyone who saw the attack or has vision of the alleged stabbing to come and talk to them at the caravan.

They urge anyone else to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
