Policewoman charged with assault after incident in Geelong

A Victorian policewoman has been charged with assault and driving without a licence after an incident in Geelong.

The officer, a constable from the North West Metro Region, has been suspended with pay following an internal investigation, a Victoria Police statement said.

She was charged following a Professional Standards Command investigation into the January 12 incident in Geelong.

She is due to appear in the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on May 20.
