The 31-year-old German woman collapsed on a sandy path between Bimbi Park caravan park and Station Beach yesterday afternoon.

Rural ambulance spokeswoman John Mullen said the woman went into cardiac arrest while returning to the caravan park where she was staying.

"It was 40 degrees at the beach. CPR was performed but we were unable to resuscitate her."

He said the track was in a remote location and it took paramedics some time to reach the woman after receiving an emergency call at 2.52 pm.

She was accompanied by a man.

Police and the Country Fire Authority also attended the incident.
