A woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly attacking her partner with a knife.

Police were called to an address in the Albany suburb of Lockyer regarding a disturbance on October 27.

Officers found a woman with injuries to her head and arm.

The victim was taken to Albany Regional Hospital by police where she received treatment for her injuries.

It will be alleged the accused attacked the victim with a knife after a domestic argument.

The 32-year-old woman from Lockyer was initially arrested on October 30, was charged with aggravated unlawful wounding and was bailed to appear in the Albany Magistrates Court on November 22.

An investigation into the incident continued, and based on information obtained since the initial arrest the 32-year-old woman was again arrested and further charged with attempted murder and burglary with intent.

The accused is due to appear in the Albany Magistrates Court on Tuesday November 13.
