Police are investigating the mystery of an upturned vehicle that was abandoned in a park in Carlisle on Friday morning.

It appears the car rolled over after doing doughnuts, which large chunks of turf ripped up on the Parnham Reserve oval.

Police are looking into whether the four-wheel-drive, which had flipped over on its roof was stolen.

They have yet to locate the owner of the vehicle.
